What is the Certification Process of a R&D Management System?

It usually consists of 7 phases:

• Application for certification to a certifying authority.
• Consideration of the request by the authorized certification authority, first contacts for the purpose of the certification process, agreement between both organizations and delivery to the certifying authority of the forms and documentation of the R&D management system for review.
• Documentary Audit: Review by the certification authority of the R&D management system documentation and correction by the company of the deficiencies detected.
• Audit-face: After a period of operation (around 6 months) realization of the previous visit to the company and audit of the implanted R&D management system.
• Report on the R&D management system audited and correction of detected operating nonconformities.
• Authorize or not the certification based on the results of the previous visit and audit.
• Subsequent follow-up audits (annual) and certificate renewal (every three years).
